Question?

Does anyone read this?

Should I type here, or is everyone okay with Korea Update e-mails?

I think I enjoy the e-mails better.

Don't get my e-mails? Want them? Let me know.

I've really been neglecting my blog lately. I may continue to do so.

Did you hear about Harry Patch? It's sad really. Radiohead wrote a song about him. Google, purchase and listen.

I saw a homeless man today. His sign said "homeless family." I'm pretty sure I saw him texting.

There's a party on the 14th at TJ and Nikki's residence. 50% of this party is for me. Come hang out. I leave for South Korea on the 19th!

Every one of these social networking sites continue to irritate me. I'm sure I will continue using them even though I don't want to.

I am on facebook, twitter, ch.mp, youtube, flickr, blogger, delicious, etc. You should really just e-mail me.

I run/bike almost everyday now.

I can't end this blog with that...

I went skydiving!!! View pictures here: flickr this

teaz me.

Everyone! Michael is playing at the Tea Bar and Fusion Cafe (formerly Teaz Me!) on July 10, 2009. I am unsure of the time but will know it soon. Anyone wanting to carpool, let me know. I drove to Chico yesterday because Michael asked me to take some pictures of him for a poster that Teaz Me will be making for the event. We took several pictures and decided on our favorites. I spent an hour or more editing the image and saved it for Mike. I am extremely pleased with the way it turned out and I hope he loves it too.

Chico had a storm last night, which I guess was in the Sacramento area before Chico and later the Redding area. Regardless, I captured something I have been trying to get since I owned my first camera in 2003. Sean Gale drove us (Michael, Michael Beale, Jill and I) up highway 32 a little ways then to upper bidwell-ish where I took several pictures. Among them is an image that I am so very proud of. It is so hard to get a picture of this without living in Arazona, or somewhere else lame. Anyhow, CLICK ME!

Comments are always welcome. Peace and Love and God Bless.

SCH

Tomorrow is the birth date of my friend Teri. We celebrated on Friday with mexican food and margaritas at Q'bole in the Sacramento area (Atomas? Folsom?). The picture in front of your face shows Teri holding a $26 margarita, Julie in the background, and me holding a $22 margarita. Don't even ask why, they were worth it. Okay, ask the other version of why? Why did I spend so much on a margarita? On Thursday, as most of you know already, I received an acceptance letter from Soonchunhyang University in South Korea. I'm going to South Korea! I celebrated with an expensive margarita, and it was tasty. I made up a new blog that will contain Korea information in the next few months as I learn more and most everything will be posted there while I'm away. Follow this blog...

Bike Ride, Mountain Style...ish

I was supposed to go on a bike ride with my dad today. He was busy and unable to go so I sent a text message to Jordan Storment this morning, "I'm going on a bike ride. Interested?" He was. I met him at his house by Enterprise High School, got ready to go and left on a bike. We decided to ride to Shasta Damn. I didn't know what I was in for. My legs are in so much pain right now. I don't think I'll be able to walk tomorrow. Regardless, I had a great time. Jordan's a great guy and I'm happy for Morgan. On the way we ran into an old tunnel (in the middle of nowhere!). It was built in 1923. We know this because it said "1923" on it. Below is a picture of Jordan and the tunnel and a picture of me and the tunnel. Our ride, there and back, was 43 miles long. I feel so good, but definitely sore.

I was rehired by Conergy yesterday and started work today. I'm sitting in my hotel room in Oakdale right now, fun. It was a very uneventful day. I walked down many rows of solar modules and wrote down serial numbers of broken panels. I will begin replacing them with unbroken panels tomorrow morning.

I received an e-mail from Jordan Bay today. She painted me a picture (I assume while babysitting?). I like it.

Antonym of Anticipate

I've been reading a lot lately. A lot. I don't have much else to do really, being laid off and all. It's been kind of nice I suppose. Anyhow, I read Life of Pi this weekend. I really enjoyed it. A little taste...
"I can well imagine an atheist's last words: 'White, white! L-L-Love! My God!' - and the deathbed leap of faith. Whereas the agnostic, if he stays true to his reasonable self, if he stays beholden to dry, yeastless factuality, might try to explain the warm light bathing him by saying, 'Possibly a f-f-failing oxygenation of the b-b-brain,' and, to the very end, lack imagination and miss the better story."
Is it really a better life to have such a lack of imagination and consult in science? From reading this book, I believe Pi understood more about religion than many of us ever could. But as a Christian I believe in so much more, that there is so much more to life and after life. Rob Bell writes about our open-mindedness in comparison to the agnostic or atheist mind in Velvet Elvis, another book I read recently and highly recommend.

Michael and I tried to go to Brandy Creek on Sunday. All the parking was gated off and signs told us we weren't allowed in. So, we left. We stopped in Old Shasta and took ridiculous pictures. For embarrassment purposes only, I am posting pictures of Michael. For fairness purposes only, I am posting pictures of myself. Peace and Love.

Get Your Graffiti On.

Did I blog for new years eve? I can't remember, not important.

Michael, Bibiana, Jennifer and I went to San Francisco for new years eve. On Hiaght St, there is an alley next to Amoeba covered with graffiti. Michael and I stopped and took many pictures of the alley. I finally got around to doing something with those pictures. I made a panorama of one side of the wall and decided it was a little hard to present the picture that way. Therefore, I placed the panoramic image at the bottom and took a chunk out to present to everyone. Just click the image to enlarge it. Please enjoy. Peace and Love.

Get Your Employment On.

This will tell you what Joe did at work today on the 18th of March 2009...

I woke up at 6, after little sleep because my roommate this week snores bad. I'm in Oakdale and I packed my clothes and little bit of food I had. I was told we would be done in Oakdale today and would drive to Sacramento to work on a job there. I ate a yogurt with some raspberries and drove to the South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID). I got there at 7. The big boss, and I mean big, didn't show up until 8 so I slept in the truck. Here is a picture of our solar system at SSJID.

Okay, check out this next picture and imagine a structure like the purple arrow is pointing at placed where the purple box is. Also, imagine twelve more rows in the red box, looking kind of like where the red arrow is pointing. This is what we are trying to finish. Today is the day PG&E hooked up all their wires at the green arrow so we can turn the system on. The blue lines are some of my walking paths in the morning before my first task of the day. I spent a lot of time where the blue arrow is pointing in the morning too. Anyhow, my first task of the day was very hard (this sentence is meant to be sarcastic). I was at the blue arrow and got a call to go to the green arrow to see my big boss. I got to the green arrow and was told to go buy two dozen donuts and some copenhagen, ha! So, I took the yellow path into Oakdale and bought things. Upon my return from the yellow path, I was told to go back to the solar field, so I did. I spent a whole lot of time sitting in a truck at the orange arrow before lunch and much more time at the blue arrow. Lunch time came and I was called to the green arrow again for pizza. I spent about four hours after lunch just standing, literally standing there at the green arrow. Fourty five minutes left of work, work... We flipped some switches, turned on the breakers, watched some solar modules tilt towards the sun and left.

Now I'm back in my hotel room, the one I tried to leave this morning. This is me sitting on my bed with nothing to do.

I want to complain so badly about my day but I have absolutely no reason to. I made thirty seven dollars an hour today and didn't break a sweat. It was just a long day of doing nothing. This blog entry was meant for me to entertain myself and it worked! I hope everyone is having a fab week!

Get Your Pizza On.

I got a crack in my windshield last Saturday, the 7th. It started spreading on Tuesday, the 10th. I wrote the times it spread during my wait, and I really found myself waiting. I was sort of excited to see how far it would reach before I got the windshield replaced. It got me thinking how often we are just waiting for things. I'm waiting for an answer from Soonchunhyang. I'm waiting for this year to be over. I wait for a friend to come see me. I wait for my water to heat up. We wait for these things that get us excited and can't do a darn thing about it. I don't want to wait any longer for this response. I'm trying to not get too excited but it's hard. I can't do anything, so I wait... What are you waiting for?

TJ, Nikki, Kristin and I went to Chico on Tuesday, the 10th.

We ate at Woodstocks and listened to music for the singer songwriter competition. The pizza was wonderful and the music was really enjoyable, most of it.

Michael played two songs he wrote. He messed up a little on his first song but played amazing overall. Good job Michael, I had a great time!

Here's a picture Kristin shot of Michael and I. I like it. Actually, I like a lot of the pictures from that night but can't put them all on here.

Get Your Concert On.

It's been a little while since I've written. So, where to start... New shoes, my heart, Project Phoetry, concert action, another part of my heart... How about I go in that order.

That's right, I bought new shoes. I bought these shoes from Tom. Morgan told me about Tom and I loved the idea so I bought a pair. Because of me, but ultimately because of Tom and his heart, another pair of shoes will be donated to a child in need. Now go buy some shoes!

This takes me to my next topic, my heart. I can't easily give you a picture of my innards, so here is my heart in hand form. Anyhow, I have been in a very giving mood lately. I feel like I can do more though. I just don't know what that may encompass. I want to give my time, and/or my money, maybe my life. I just don't know. I feel like something is stirring in me. I just want it to come out completely! Please pray...

I enjoy Project Phoetry. However, I have been a bit of a slacker in this field lately. I know Michael enjoys these little challenges but I have been slow to give him more. I need to take my camera out and get something good for him! Here is the latest from Michael and I. I took this picture years ago, not my favorite, but definitely a challenge for Michael. I love what he writes. Also, I heard his music this weekend, amazing. I can't wait until a CD is made.

Speaking of music (wow, I just noticed each topic kind of flows with the next, kind of), I also enjoy concerts. I attended Jesus Culture with Kendall and Cory this past Friday at the the Cascade Theater, great times. Really great times actually. Side note; thank you for taking me Cory. Exit side note; on Saturday, Kristin and I went to Chico, did some thrift store shopping with Michael and went to see Modest Mouse at the Senator. Good show, stupid crowd, I had a great time regardless. We enjoyed a few drinks at Riley's then found our way back to the boys' apartment. I slept on Zachs bed. Take that Zach Bay!

On to my final topic... What was that other part of my heart I wanted to write about? Actually, I remember. I think I'll write on this topic later. I've still got a lot going through my head. So, I hope whoever reads this has enjoyed. Peace and Love...

All for Believing

There is so much I want to write. So much in fact, that I'm not going to write anything except that life is wonderful. Let's have an adventure together.

This is the latest Phoetry image from
Michael and I. Please Enjoy.

And she said, "Why can't you be..."

If anyone was wondering, I am doing very well. That's mostly true. I've been a little depressed lately, for reasons I will not discuss but I am striving to always be happy. It's one of my 2009 goals. I have a list. I am hoping to begin one of my other items next week. We will see what happens. How is life treating you?

Again, Thank you Michael for writing what you did. I think it's beautiful. This is a picture I took in high school, senior year. Comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

sundrenched world

I feel like I'm more creative when I am happy and in a good mood. My week started slow and mostly miserable. By the end, I was much more grateful and happy with life (thank you). These are my creative results.
I must give credit to Michael for the writings, and on such short notice. I really think it turned out wonderfully. Thank you Michael. The writing is intentionally hard to read because I wanted everyone to read it slowly and take in the words completely.

Blogger isn't super good with pictures. For a more clear result, click here (just click full size).

the beginning is the end is the beginning

A close friend has inspired me greatly and in so many ways lately. This blog is many things to me. It is a reminder, a distraction, a new home, a place for me. This place for me will be similar to joespace only, and I mean only in the sense that every blog will have at least one photo. I hope you enjoy my new home.
I took this photo and edited it slightly today. I admire the word and ideas of love. Sometimes I believe love is all we need.
